Justin Flores, Dipl. O.M., LAc
As a former ballet dancer I had a 20 year professional performance career. During my years on stage in New York and San Francisco I entrusted my body to treatment modalities such as Acupuncture, Tui Na, Rolfing, Neuromuscular Re-education (NMR), and Neurokinetic Therapy®. As an acupuncturist and NMR practitioner I've had great success working with some of the country's top dance artists.
I believe that chronic pain often has its origins in the brain's strategies for refining movement and creating stability. This work found solutions to persistent problems I was experiencing while returning to the stage after a second ankle surgery. The change it made in my state of being is in large part why I became a practitioner.
I currently practice in beautiful San Diego, CA both in private practice and as company therapist for The Rosin Box Project, City Ballet of San Diego, and Golden State Ballet. If you are experiencing chronic pain or muscle weakness after an injury, surgery, childbirth, or from your favorite physical activity, or if you are looking to better your balance and strength as a dancer, fighter, or an athlete, I can help.
